A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH DESIGNATING SEASHORE DRIVE
A ONE -WAY STREET FOR EASTBOUND TRAFFIC FROM
46TH STREET TO 33RD STREET AND WESTBOUND
TRAFFIC FROM 46TH STREET TO ORANGE; AND THE
CREATION OF A TWO -WAY BICYCLE LANE ON SEASHORE
DRIVE FROM ORANGE TO 33RD STREET
WHEREAS, Section 12.52.010 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code provides that whenever any resolution of this
City designates any one -way street or alley, the City Traffic
Engineer shall place and maintain signs giving notice thereof,
and Section 12.52.020 of the Municipal Code provides that
when signs are erected on any one -way street or alley giving
notice thereof, no person shall drive, or park, any vehicle
in a direction contrary thereto; and
WHEREAS, Section 12.56.180 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code provides that whenever any resolution of this
City designates any portion of a street or sidewalk as a
bicycle lane, the City Traffic Engineer shall place and
maintain signs giving notice thereof; and
WHEREAS, the street hereinafter described is the
street which should be designated as a one -way street in order
to facilitate the flow of traffic and eliminate traffic
hazards,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach that the following street is
hereby designated as a one -way street:
SEASHORE DRIVE ONE -WAY WESTBOUND FROM 46TH
STREET TO ORANGE AND ONE -WAY EASTBOUND FROM
46TH STREET TO 33RD STREET.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a two -way bicycle lane
is hereby designated on Seashore Drive from Orange to 33rd
Street.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Traffic
Engineer is authorized and directed to appropriately sign
or mark said street to indicate the above designations.
ADOPTED this 23rd day of April 1979.
