A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
• OF NEWPORT BEACH SUPPORTING THE ORANGE COUNTY
TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION'S STATE TRANSPORTA-
TION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Orange County Transportation Commission
(OCTC) has requested the State to include a total of $6 million
in the 1980/81 and 1981/82 State Transportation Improvement
Program (STIP); and
WHEREAS, said $6 million is recommended to be used
for the construction of the Corona del Mar Freeway from Red
Hill Avenue through Jamboree Road; and
WHEREAS, CalTrans is not recommending the inclusion
of these funds in the STIP; and
WHEREAS, the final decision on this matter rests
with the California Transportation Commission,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach does hereby support the OCTC's
State Transportation Improvement Program recommendations and
urges the California Transportation Commission to include
funding for the Corona del Mar Freeway from Red Bill Avenue
through Jamboree Road in the next State Transportation Improve-
ment Program.
