A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH APPOINTING HUGH R. COFFIN
ACTING CITY ATTORNEY AND FIXING THE SALARY
FOR THAT POSITION
WHEREAS, Dennis D. O'Neil, the City Attorney, will
be terminating his employment with the City of Newport Beach
to enter private practice; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has decided to advertise
and invite applications to fill the vacancy created by
Mr. O'Neil's departure; and
WHEREAS, pending an evaluation period and selection
of a new City Attorney the Council wishes to appoint the
Assistant City Attorney as Acting City Attorney,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach hereby appoints HUGH R. COFFIN
Acting City Attorney effective July 1, 1979, and continuing
until such time as .a new City Attorney is appointed by the
City Council.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Acting City Attorney's
salary is established at Thirty -Eight Thousand Dollars ($38,000)
a year.
ADOPTED this 11th day of June , 1979.
