RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH APPROVING THE JOB CLASSIFI-
CATION OF PLANNING DIRECTOR, BUILDING DIRECTOR,
Is AND CURRENT PLANNING ADMINISTRATOR, AND DELETING
THE JOB CLASSIFICATIONS OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
DIRECTOR, ASSISTANT COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIREC-
TOR - PLANNING, AND ASSISTANT COMMUNITY DEVELOP-
MENT DIRECTOR - BUILDING
WHEREAS, Section 2.12.030 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code is to be amended to delete the Community
Development Department; and
WHEREAS, Section 2.12.030 and Section 2.12.035 are
to be added to the Newport Beach Municipal Code creating the
Planning Department and 'Building Department as separate
departments; and
WHEREAS, by virtue of the elimination of the
Community Development Department and creation of the Planning
Department and Building Department, the positions oECommunity
Development Director, Assistant Community Development Director -
Planning, and Assistant Community Development Director - Building
become nonfunctional; and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to approve the classifica-
tions of Planning Director, Building Director, and Current
Planning Administrator to reflect the change in organization of
the planning and building functions of the City and to eliminate
the nonfunctional positions,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
hereby deletes the job classifications of Community Development
Ll
Director, Assistant Community Development Director - Planning,
and Assistant Community Development Director - Building.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council does
hereby approve the job classifications of Planning Director,
Building Director, and Current Planning Administrator.
