HomeMy WebLinkAbout9669 - Appointing City AttorneyRESOLUTION NO. 9669 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH APPOINTING HUGH R. COFFIN AS CITY ATTORNEY, FIXING SALARY AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT, AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 9571 WHEREAS, the office of City Attorney became vacant on July 1, 1979, and the City Council appointed Hugh R. Coffin as Acting City Attorney effective on such date; and WHEREAS, the City Council now desires to make a permanent appointment to that office and has the power and duty to fix the salary and conditions of employment of the City Attorney, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach that Hugh R. Coffin be and hereby is appointed as City Attorney of the City of Newport Beach effec- tive October 23, 1979, pursuant to and subject to the provisions of Section 602 of the Charter of the City of Newport Beach, and subject to the additional conditions as follows: 1. Salary: $41,000 per year; 2. The City Attorney is to receive the same vacation, sick leave, retirement, advance training and attendance at con- ferences, health insurance and life insurance as afforded to other employees of the City of Newport Beach. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 9571 be and hereby is rescinded.
