A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF
ORANGE TO INCREASE THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINAN-
CING PROGRAM (AHFP) ALLOCATION FOR PROJECT
NO. 881 (COAST HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT) FROM
$60,000.00 TO $83,637.08
WHEREAS, on December 20, 1976, the City Council
adopted Resolution No. 8958 requesting the County of Orange
to provide $265,000 for the improvement of West Coast Highway
in its 1977 -78 Arterial Highway Financing Program (AHFP); and
WHEREAS, the County allocated $30,000 for right -of-
way acquisition and $235,000 for design and construction of
said project; and
WHEREAS, on February 13, 1978, the City Council
adopted Resolution No. 9279 requesting the County of Orange to
increase the AHFP allocation for said project from $30,000 to
$60,000 for right -of -way acquisition; and
WHEREAS, based on the final judgment in the condemna-
tion action filed in this matter, the County's share of right-
of -way costs needs to be increased from $60,000 to $83,637.08;
and
WHEREAS, the County has requested that the City adopt
a resolution requesting the increased allocation for right -of -way
funds for AHFP Project No. 881,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach hereby requests the County of
Orange to increase the AHFP allocation for Project No. 881 from
$60,000 to $83,637.08.
