A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING A RATE INCREASE
IN THE FEES AND CHARGES FOR COMMUNITY CABLE
VISION COMPANY AS RELATED TO 26- CHANNEL
SERVICE AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 9450
WHEREAS, on March 9, 1981 the City Council of the City
of Newport Beach adopted Resolution 'No. 9992 setting a public
hearing to consider a rate schedule increase which Community
Cablevision Company (hereinfater "Community Cable ") could charge
its customers; and
WHEREAS, on October 24, 1978 the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach adopted Resolution No. 9450 establishing
the rates and charges for Community Cable services within the
City of Newport Beach; and
WHEREAS, Community Cable has requested the establishment
of a new service rate for 26- channel service while maintaining
the existing rate for 12- channel service within their franchised
area of the City of Newport Beach; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 5.44.035 of the Newport
Beach Municipal Code, the City Council has held a public hearing
to consider said rate alterations,
• NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that the following rate schedule for
CATV service proposed by Community Cable is hereby approved:

The following rates & charges shall be made for 12- channel CATV
services
Installation Charges for Normal Installations
A. Connection Fee for Existing Service 10.00
1. New or Additional Outlet, each 15.00
2. Relocate Outlet, Each 15.00
3. Extend Lead (15 ft) 10.00
4. Residential Service Drop 2.50 /ft.
5. Commercial Service Drop Time &
Material
6. System Relocation Time &
Material
B. Installation Charges for Remote Dwelling
• The term "remote dwelling" shall mean any installation
which requires more than 150 feet of home drop cable to a
• reasonable location for a service connection. Charges to remote
dwellings shall be based upon actual cost to Community Cable for
time and materials of making the installation.

C. Unusual Installation Char
In cases where normal installation charges as set forth
herein do not apply, Community Cable shall so advise a potential
subscriber before executing a CATV rental agreement. In all such
cases, a definite installation charge shall be specified in the
agreement with the subscriber.
D. Monthly Service Rental Charges
Monthly service rental charges are based on either an
individual account or bulk account.

E. Monthly Service Rental Charges for Commercial
Establishments
The monthly service rental charge for commercial

The monthly service rental charge for hotels, motels and
community associations shall be based on the bulk account rate.

Thee shall be an annual equipment fee charge of $25.00
for each terminal installed.

individual account.

business establishments other than hotels and motels shall be

and Community Associations
The monthly service rental charge for hotels, motels and
community associations shall be based on the individual account
rate.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT Community Cable may not
require customers to convert from the existing 12- channel system
to 26- channel system, provided they are subscribers prior to May
1, 1981 and do not change their residence.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT Resolution No. 9450 is
hereby rescinded.
