RESOLUTION NO. 10,005
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH SETTING A GALLERY FEE FOR
ITEMS DISPLAYED IN THE CITY HALL GALLERY AND
DESIGNATING PAYMENT TO THE FRIENDS OF THE ARTS
COMMISSION, INC.
WHEREAS, the Arts Commission of the City of Newport
Beach displays art work at the City Hall Gallery; and
WHEREAS, Council Policy F -18 provides that no City Board
or Commission may raise or collect funds on its own behalf; and
WHEREAS, the Friends of the Arts Commission, Inc., has
been created as a support group for the Arts Commission of the
City of Newport Beach; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to establish a 15%
gallery fee for works of art sold from the City Hall Art Gallery,
said gallery fee to be paid fully to the Friends of the Arts
Commission, Inc.,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that there is hereby established a fee
of 158 on all works of art sold as a result of display in the
City Hall Art Gallery. Said fee shall be collected by and paid
to the Friends of the Arts Commission, Inc., upon each sale of
work from the City Hall Gallery.
