A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING AN ALARM
CONNECTION FEE
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach,
• pursuant to the provisions of Section 5.49.040 of the Newport
Beach Municipal Code has the power to set, by Resolution, fees to
be charged to an Alarm Permit holder whose system directly
connects with the Newport Beach Police Department; and
WHEREAS, the demand for alarm systems which directly
connect with the Newport Beach Police Department has necessitated
the purchase of a new alarm system as well as additional panels
to allow for the additional direct connections; and
WHEREAS, in order to defray the cost of acquisition of
the new alarm equipment, purchased to satisfy the additional
demand, it is appropriate to establish an Alarm Connection Fee of
$60.00 per connection, said fee to be charged to each person who,
subsequent to July 1, 1982, directly connects an alarm system
with the alarm equipment within the Newport Beach Police
Department;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that all persons who, subsequent to
July 1, 1982, establish a new, direct connection between their
alarm system and the alarm equipment of the Newport Beach Police
Department, shall pay to the City of Newport Beach, at the time
the system is connected, a fee of $60.00 per connection.
