A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING AN ALLOWANCE OF
TWO HUNDRED FIFTY FIVE DOLLARS AND THIRTY FIVE
CENTS ($255.35) PER MONTH, ADJUSTED IN
ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONSUMER PRICE INDEX, TO
THE MAYOR IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 404 OF
• THE CHARTER
WHEREAS, Section 404 of the City Charter provides that
in addition to the

the City Council may, by resolution,.provide
the Mayor of an allowance not exceeding Two
Dollars and Thirty Five Cents ($255,35) per
the Mayor for the additional expenses incurred
WHEREAS, on January 4, 1983, the City Council appointed
a new Mayor; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is desirous of paying the
Mayor the sum of $255.35 per month as provided for in Section 404
of the Charter;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that the Mayor be allowed the sum of
Two Hundred Fifty Five Dollars and Thirty Five Cents ($255.35)
per month, adjusted annually in accordance with the Consumer
Price Index, or Five Percent (5 %), whichever amount is lesser,
during the term as Mayor, beginning January 4, 1983, to reimburse
the Mayor for the additional demands made, and expenses incurred,
in serving as Mayor, in accordance with Section 404 of the
Newport Beach City Charter.
ADOPTED this 4th day of January, 1983.
