A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
• OF NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING THE JOINT
GOVERNMENTAL COMMITTEE FOR THE EVALUATION AND
IMPLEMENTATION OF THE UPPER NEWPORT BAY
COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the Upper Newport Bay Cooperative Agreement
has been executed by the California State Department of Fish &
Game, the County of Orange, the City of Irvine, the City of
Newport Beach and The Irvine Company; and
WHEREAS, the Cooperative Agreement provides for the
establishment of an executive committee to evaluate and assess
the programs leading to the implementation of the sediment
control plan, to prepare agreements to implement elements of the
sediment control plan, and to evaluate and assess the
effectiveness of the various elements of the control plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that a Joint Governmental Committee for
the Evaluation and Implementation of the Upper Newport Bay
Cooperative Agreement be established in accordance with the
provisions of the Upper Newport Bay Cooperative Agreement;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the composition, duties and
responsibilities of the Committee shall be as follows:
1. Composition
(a) A representative, and an alternate, from the City
of Newport Beach, to be appointed by the Mayor of
the City of Newport Beach;
(b) A representative, and an alternate, from the City
of Irvine, appointed by the Mayor of the City of
• Irvine;
(c) A representative, and an alternate, from the County
of Orange, appointed by the Chairman of the Board
of supervisors;

(d) A representative, and an alternate, from The Irvine
Company;
(e) A representative, and an alternate, from the State
Department of Fish & Game.
2. Meetings
The Executive Committee shall meet from time -to -time
upon the request of the Chairman, but at least every six
months; and
3. Chairman
Members of the Executive Committee shall elect a
Chairman to serve a two -year term.
