(310) 547 -0919 Fax (310) 547 -0031 Proposal: Newport Pier; Restaurant Area Specific; Level 2 -U/W & below Deck Inspection American Marine Corporation (AMC) is pleased to provide Lump Sum and time estimates for the above mentioned project. In order to accomplish the desired degree of inspection, the involved piling and below deck structures will require enhanced techniques compared with our previous inspection related to the Ocean Piers Project. The restaurant foot print extends from bent 49.5 thru bent 52 and involves 31 support piling. In this area, the results from the Ocean Piers Inspection revealed that 4 piling are suspect. The proposed Level 2 will require moderate piling marine growth and wrap removal to determine substrate wood conditions. This will also be confirmed with core sampling or nail -out technique as required. After inspection and proper documentation, all pile will be reconstituted as original. Also, the below deck components will also be Level 2 evaluated. Structures are as follows: caps, stringers, piling cross bracing, longitudinal diagonal bracing, bridging, blocking, connection points, associated hardware, fasteners and utility line brackets. Upon commencement of the Level 2 inspection, a detailed electronic report along with an U/W and topside video and associated still photos will be presented. The report will include conditions /deficiencies found and recommendations for repair. During the Level 2 inspection effort, progress reports with daily work logs will be provided. As arranged on the Ocean Piers Inspection, AMC requests similar overnight storage provisions for the dive van and inspection equipment. Also, parking permits (3) will need to be provided. Lump Sum: $18,200 (3 day inspection effort) Price is inclusive of all labor, equipment, mobilization, demobilization and report presentations. Scheduling can commence in March. A break out of costs can be provided upon request. Although, AMC is familiar and competent with inspection of waterfront structures we are not certified for binding structural assessments. AMC takes no responsibility for said findings. American Marine Corporation looks forward to working with you on this project.
