A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA
ESTABLISHING APPLICATION AND LICENSE FEES FOR
SIDEWALK CAFE LICENSE ENCROACHMENT PERMITS
WHEREAS, the City Council has enacted Ordinance No. 96 -9 to permit the use of
public sidewalks for outdoor dining under certain circumstances; and
WHEREAS, Section 13.18.030 of the Municipal Code authorizes the City Council
to establish fees to defray the cost of administering the requirements for outdoor dining
areas; and
WHEREAS, the fees established by this Resolution reflect the cost of the services
provided.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE as follows:
1. The following fees shall be paid in connection with Sidewalk Cafe License
Encroachment Permits:
a. Application fee: $50.00
b. Transfer fee: $25.00
C. Annual use fee:
First year: No annual fee.
Subsequent years: $100 (sidewalk area 100 square feet or less)
$200 (sidewalk area over 100 square feet)
2. The fees established in Section 1 of this Resolution shall remain in effect
until such time as they may be superseded by Resolution of the City Council.
ADOPTED this 11th day of March, 1996.
