• <br />• <br />L <br />RESOLUTION NO. 98- 23 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT <br />BEACH DESIGNATING AN AUTHORIZED AGENT FOR THE PURPOSE <br />OF APPLYING FOR FEDERAL AND STATE FUNDS <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH HEREBY RESOLVES, <br />DETERMINES, AND ORDERS AS FOLLOWS: <br />THAT the City of Newport City Manager or Administrative Services Director are hereby <br />authorized to execute for and on behalf of the City of Newport Beach, a public entity established <br />under the laws of the State of California, an application and to file it in the Office of Emergency <br />Services for the purpose of obtaining certain federal financial assistance under P.L. 93 -288 as <br />amended by the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act of 1988, <br />and /or state financial assistance under the Natural Disaster Assistance Act. <br />That the City of Newport Beach, a public entity established under the laws of the State <br />of California, hereby authorizes its agent(s) to provide to the State Office of Emergency <br />Services, for all matters pertaining to such state disaster assistance, the assurances and <br />agreements required. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby directed to have this resolution <br />recorded by the Orange County Recorder. <br />Adopted thisl3th day of April 11998 <br />ATTEST: <br />e� <br />CITY CLERK <br />ThorKas C.
