• A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE LAND
USE ELEMENT OF THE NEWPORT BEACH GENERAL PLAN AND
THE LOCAL COASTAL PROGRAM LAND USE PLAN [PLANNING
COMMISSION GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT 98 -1 (D)/LCP NO.
49]
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 65300 of the California Government Code, the City of
Newport Beach is required prepare and adopt a comprehensive, long -term, general plan for the
physical development of the city and any land outside of its boundaries which bears relation to
its planning; and
WHEREAS, approximately two- tenths of an acre of land associated with property located
at 4700 Surrey Drive was inadvertently excluded when that property was annexed to the City of
Newport Beach in 1977; and
• WHEREAS, that the subject property needs to be incorporated into the land use planning
documents of the City of Newport Beach so it can be joined with the property located at 4700
Surrey Drive; and
WHEREAS, on March 19, 1998, the Planning Commission of the City of Newport Beach
held a public hearing regarding General Plan Amendment 98 -1 (D) and Local Coastal Program
Amendment 49; and
WHEREAS, on April 13, 1998, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach held a
public hearing regarding General Plan Amendment 98 -1 (D) and Local Coastal Program
Amendment 49; and
WHEREAS, the public was duly noticed of these public hearings; and
• WHEREAS, pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act, it has been determined
that the proposed amendment is categorically exempt under Class 5, minor alterations in land use
• limitations.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS
•
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The Land Use Element of the General Plan and the Local Coastal Program
Land Use Plan shall be amended to designate the subject property as Residential Single Family
Detached.
This resolution was adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach held on April 13, 1998, by the following vote, to wit:

hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City Council is seven; that the foregoing
resolution, being Resolution No. 98 -24, was duly and regularly introduced before and adopted by the
City Council of said City at a regular meeting of said Council, duly and regularly held on the 13th
day of April, 1998, and that the same was so passed and adopted by the following vote, to wit:
