RESOLUTION NO. 98 -31 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT <br />• BEACH APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE LOCAL COASTAL <br />PROGRAM LAND USE PLAN [LCP NO. 501 <br />WHEREAS, the proposed redesignation of the property located at 1800 to 1804 West <br />Balboa Boulevard from Two Family Residential to Retail and Service Commercial has been <br />determined to be consistent with the Land Use Element policies regarding commercial land <br />uses and development; and <br />WHEREAS, the proposed amendments would allow the maintenance and expansion <br />of the existing motel development which is consistent with the policies of the Local Coastal <br />Program Land Use Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, on April 9, 1998, the Planning Commission of the City of Newport Beach <br />held a public hearing regarding Local Coastal Program Amendment 50; and <br />• WHEREAS, on May 11, 1998, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach held a <br />public hearing regarding Local Coastal Program Amendment 50; and <br />WHEREAS, the public was duly noticed of these public hearings; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act, it has been <br />determined that the proposed amendment is categorically exempt under Class 1, existing <br />facilities. <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH DOES HEREBY RESOLVE <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1: The Local Coastal Program Land Use Plan shall be amended to <br />designate the subject property to Retail and Service Commercial. <br />• SECTION 2: The Local Coastal Program Land Use Plan shall be amended to read as <br />follows: <br />1 <br />
