A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
• APPROVING STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR PUBLIC WORKS
CONSTRUCTION, 1997 EDITION; AND WORK AREA TRAFFIC CONTROL
HANDBOOK, 1996 EDITION
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department of the City of Newport Beach has presented
to the City Council certain publications which are desired by the Public Works Department to
be used in the design and construction of public works improvements within the City of
Newport Beach; and
WHEREAS, said publications are the Standard Specifications for Public Works
Construction, 1997 Edition; and Work Area Traffic Control Handbook, 1996 Edition; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to approve said publications as the minimum
standards to be followed for the design and construction of public works improvements within
• the City of Newport Beach; and to approve future supplements to the 1997 Edition of the
Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach hereby adopts said publications and future supplements to them as the minimum
standards to be followed for the design and construction of public works improvements within
the City of Newport Beach.

City Council of said City at a regular meeting of said Council, duly and regularly held on the 14th day
of December, 1998, and that the same was so passed and adopted by the following vote, to wit:

Absent: None
Abstain: None
