A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING
RESOLUTION NO. 98 -17 PERTAINING TO THE
APPOINTMENT OF OFFICERS TO THE
ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY AFFAIRS
CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, the City Council previously adopted Resolution No. 98 -17, which
re- established the Environmental Quality Affairs Citizens Advisory Committee; and
WHEREAS, the resolution states that the officers of said Committee shall be
comprised of a chairperson and a secretary; and that the chairperson shall be
appointed by the Mayor and the vice - chairperson and secretary shall be elected by
the Committee; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to designate what officers are
required and who shall appoint the officers.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
• Newport Beach does hereby establish the following:
1) The committee shall have a Chairperson, Vice Chairperson and a
Secretary;
2) The chairperson shall be appointed by the Mayor;
3) The vice chairperson and secretary shall be elected by the Committee;
and
3) The Mayor has the discretion to appoint either a Council Member or a
citizen to the position of Chairperson.
ADOPTED this 25th day of January, 2000.

the City Council of said City at a regular meeting of said Council, duly and regularly held on the 25th
day of January, 2000, and that the same was so passed and adopted by the following vote, to wit:
Ayes: Thomson, Glover, Debay, Ridgeway, O'Neil, Mayor Noyes
Noes: None
Absent: Adams
Abstain: None
