HomeMy WebLinkAbout2005-50 - Boat Pumpout - Dump Station FacilityRESOLUTION NO. 2005- 50 • RESOLUTION OF THE NEWPORT BEACH CITY COUNCIL REQUESTING • GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $65,000 FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF BOATING AND WATERWAYS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A BOAT PUMPOUT I DUMP STATION FACILITY AT THE AMERICAN LEGION, 215 15TH ST., NEWPORT BEACH, CA 92663. THE NEWPORT BEACH CITY COUNCIL HEREBY FINDS, RESOLVES AND ORDERS AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach is desirous of improving / developing a boat pumpout station facility at the American Legion to meet the needs of boaters and to provide public access to these facilities; and WHEREAS, the Department of Boating and Waterways is authorized to provide grants to cities, counties, districts and other public agencies for the construction and development of boat pumpout / dump station facilities; and WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach is willing to enter into an agreement to provide for the operation and maintenance of the proposed facilities at no cost to the State; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council by adoption of this resolution hereby request that the Department of Boating and Waterways provide a grant for the purpose of improving / developing a public use boat pumpout / dump station at the American Legion; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council agrees to accept the grant. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL THIS 27TH DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 2005 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE.
