HomeMy WebLinkAbout2006-87 - Marine Charters Titles 17 & 20RESOLUTION NO. 2006. 87 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH INITIATING AN AMENDMENT TO TITLE 17 AND TITLE 20 OF THE NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE TO REVISE LAND USE REGULATIONS AND PARKING REQUIREMENTS FOR MARINE CHARTERS (PA 2006 -194) WHEREAS, Title 20 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code authorizes the City Council to adopt a resolution initiating amendments to the Zoning Code of the City of Newport Beach; and WHEREAS, on February 14, 2006, the City Council adopted new permit procedures for regulating commercial activities on Newport Harbor with the intent of consolidating charter regulations to a single ordinance and establishing a single regulatory authority within the City for commercial operations on Newport Harbor, and WHEREAS, current land use and off - street parking regulations of the Zoning Code of the Newport Beach Municipal Code nun contrary to the intent of consolidating charter regulations to a single ordinance and establishing a single regulatory authority within the City for commercial operations on Newport Harbor, and WHEREAS, Title 17 and Title 20 should be amended to correct this conflict. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby initiates an amendment to Title 17 and Title 20 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code to revise the revise land use regulations and parking requirements pertaining to marine charters. This resolution was adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach held on September 26, 2006, by the following vote, to wit: AYES, COUNCIL MEMBERS Curry, selich, Rosansky, Ridgeway, Daigle, Nichols, Mayor Webb NOES, COUNCIL MEMBERS - -- ABSENT COUNCIL MEMBERS --- T- kvA my$]� ATTEST: CITY CLERK STATE OF CALIFORNIA } COUNTY OF ORANGE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH } I, LaVonne M.
