RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
• AUTHORIZING FISCAL YEAR 1986 -1987 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
BLOCK GRANT ENTITILEMENT FUNDS SUBMISSION TO THE
DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT
WHEREAS, on June 25, 1984, the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach adopted Resolution No. 84 -59 amending the Housing
Element of the General Plan consistent with the provisions of Govern-
ment Code Sections 65580 et seq, (Roos Bill); and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach is making a good faith
effort to implement the policies and programs contained in the General
Plan Housing Element; and
WHEREAS, it is the City's desire to benefit low and moderate
income households; and
WHEREAS, the City is eligible for $357,000 in 1986 -1987
Community Development Block Grant funds which can be used for land
acquisition and programs as set forth in the attached Statement of
Community Development Objectives; and
WHEREAS, the City has published two notices of public
hearing requesting comments and program funding requests; and
WHEREAS, the City has published the "Proposed Statements of
Community Development Objectives and Proposed Use of Funds" and made
it available to the public; and
WHEREAS, the "Proposed Statement of Objectives and Proposed
Use of Funds" has been thoroughly reviewed; and
WHEREAS, in the "Final Statement of Objectives and Proposed
Use of Funds" the City has considered all public comments or views
which have been received either in writing or at the public hearing.

NOW,
THEREFORE, BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of
Newport Beach
that the 1986 -1987 Community Development
Block Grant Submission is hereby authorized.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby
identified as the official representative of the Grantee to submit the
Final Statement, all understandings and assurances contained therein,
and such additional information as may be required.
