RESOLUTION NO. 86 -104
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND
CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A RENEWED TWO YEAR
AGREEMENT WHICH PROVIDES FOR THE COUNTY TO
ADMINISTER, REGULATE AND ENFORCE ALL CITY AND
COUNTY ORDINANCES DEALING WITH ANCHORAGE AND
MOORING REGULATIONS
WHEREAS, since 1976 the City of Newport Beach and the
County of Orange have maintained .a Joint Powers Agreement for
purposes of administering moorings located in Lower Newport Bay;
and
WHEREAS, the most recent Joint Powers Agreement expires
on December 31, 1986; and
WHEREAS, the City and County desire to renew the Joint
Powers Agreement such that the County administers moorings
located over City tidelands and enforces all City and County
ordinances relating to vessels moored to both on and off -shore
moorings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach:
1. That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby
authorized to execute a Joint Powers Agreement with the County of
Orange providing for mooring administration services in a form
substantially identical to the Agreement presented to the City
Council on January 27, 1986, with th exception that the Agreement
be for two (2) years.
