A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
APPROVING GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT 87 -2(B)
AMENDING THE LAND USE ELEMENT OF THE NEWPORT BEAGH GENERAL PLAN
SO AS TO INCREASE THE ALLOWABLE ON -SITE DEVELOPMENT AT
2800 JAMBOREE ROAD BY 2000 SQUARE FEET;
FROM 46,952 SQUARE FEET TO 48,952 SQUARE FEET; AND
• ACCEPTANCE OF AN ENVIRONMENTAL DOCUMENT
WHEREAS, as part of the development and implementation of the
City's General Plan, the Land Use Element has been prepared; and
WHEREAS, said element of the General Plan sets forth objectives
and supporting policies which serve as a guide for future development of the
City of Newport Beach; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 707 of the Charter of the City of
Newport Beach, the Planning Commission has held a duly noticed public
hearing to consider certain amendments to the above referenced element of
the Newport Beach General Plan; and
WHEREAS, at said public hearing, the Planning Commission adopted
Resolution No. 1167 recommending approval of General Plan Amendment 87 -2(B)
to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, an Initial Study has been prepared in compliance with the
California Environmental Quality Act, and the CEQA Guidelines; and
WHEREAS, based upon the information contained in the Initial
Study, it has been determined that the project will not have a significant
adverse impact on the environment and a Negative Declaration has been
prepared.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach that an amendment to the Land Use Element be approved, as
follows:
Increase the allowable on -site development in the North Ford -
San Diego Creek Planned Community "Light Industry - Office
Area 1" at 2800 Jamboree Road (Parcel 1 of Parcel Map 41 -27,
Resubdivision No. 328) by 2,000 square feet of net floor
area, from 46,952 square feet to 48,952 square feet, for the
purpose of expanding the two existing employee training
areas.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Environmental Document be
accepted.
