RESOLUTION NO. 93 - 7
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH APPROVING THE
SUBMITTAL OF A CITY -WIDE SIGNAL
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT TO THE ORANGE COUNTY
TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY FOR FUNDING
UNDER THE COMBINED TRANSPORTATION FUNDING
PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach desires to
implement the transportation improvements listed below; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach has been
declared by the Orange County Transportation Authority to
meet the eligibility requirements to receive Measure M
"turnback" funds; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach will provide
matching funds for each project as required by the Orange
County Combined Transportation Funding Program Procedures
Manual; and
WHEREAS, the Orange County Transportation Authority
intends to allocate funds for transportation improvement
projects within the incorporated cities and the County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City
Council of the City of Newport Beach hereby requests that the
Orange County Transportation Authority allocate funds in the
amount specified in the City's application to said City from
the combined Transportation Funding Program. Said funds
shall be matched by funds from said City as required and
shall be used to aid the City in the improvement of the
traffic signal system.
The arterials to be included in the proposed
project are:
Balboa Boulevard
Birch Street
Bristol Street
Bristol Street North
Ford Road
Irvine Avenue /Campus Drive
Jamboree Road
MacArthur Boulevard
