A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
REQUESTING THE ORANGE COUNTY TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY
TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ORANGE COUNTY COMBINED TRANSPORTATION
FUNDING PROGRAMS THE IMPROVEMENT OF ROADWAYS LISTED HEREIN
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE, AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
• (a) THAT, WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach desires
to implement the transportation improvements listed below;
(b) WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach has been
declared by the Orange County Transportation Authority to be
eligible to receive Measure M "turnback" funds;
(c) WHEREAS, the City's Circulation Element is
consistent with the County of Orange Master Plan of Arterial
Highways;
(d) WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach will provide
matching funds for each project as required by the Orange County
Combined Transportation Funding Program Procedures Manual;
(e) WHEREAS, the Orange County Transportation
Authority intend to allocate funds for the transportation
improvement projects within the incorporated cities and the
County;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach hereby requests the Orange County Transportation Authority
and to allocate funds in the amounts specified in the City's
application to said City from the Combined Transportation Funding
Programs. Said funds shall be matched by funds from said City as
required and shall be used to aid the City in the improvement of
the following streets:
1. Jamboree Road
Bristol Street to Campus Drive
Rehabilitation of Street improvements
2. MacArthur Boulevard Widening Project
Pacific Coast Highway to the San Joaquin Hills
Transportation Corridor
3. Westcliff Drive /17th Street and Irvine Avenue
Right of Way Acquisition and Construction of
Traffic Signal and Intersection Modifications
4. Pacific Coast Highway /Newport Boulevard Interchange
5. MacArthur Boulevard /Campus Drive
Intersection Improvements
6. Placentia Avenue Widening Project
• Hospital Road to Superior Avenue
7. Birch Street Bridge Widening
Bristol Street South to Bristol Street North
S. Newport Boulevard Widening
30th Street to 32nd Street
9. Jamboree Road /Ford Road
Intersection Improvements
10. Jamboree Road /Bison Avenue
Intersection Improvements
11. Newport Boulevard Widening
Pacific Coast Highway to Hospital Road
12. Westcliff Avenue Widening
Irvine Avenue to Dover Drive
