RESOLUTION NO. X21
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
AUTHORIZING THE FISCAL YEAR 1993 -1994 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
BLOCK GRANT ENTITLEMENT FUNDS APPLICATION SUBMISSION
TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach is making a good faith effort to
implement the policies and programs contained in the City's General Plan; and
WHEREAS, it is the City's desire to benefit low and moderate income
households; and
WHEREAS, the City is eligible for $472,000 in 1993 -94 Community
Development Block Grant funds which can be used for housing, social services, public
facilities, and administration as set forth in the attached Statement of Community
Development Objectives; and
WHEREAS, the City has published a notice announcing the availability of
funds and requesting proposals for projects; and
WHEREAS, the City has published a notice of public hearing requesting
comments on the "Proposed Statement of Community Development Objectives and
Proposed Use of Funds" and made it available to the public; and
WHEREAS, the "Proposed Statement of Objectives and Proposed Use of
Funds" was thoroughly reviewed; and
WHEREAS, in the "Final Statement of Objectives and Proposed Use of
Funds" the City has considered all public comments or views which were received either in
writing or at the public hearing.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Newport Beach that the 1993 -1994 Community Development Block Grant Application
submission is hereby authorized; and
is BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby identified
as the official representative of the City of Newport Beach to submit the Final Statement
and application, all understandings and assurances contained therein, and such additional
information as may be required; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby identified
as the official representative of the City of Newport Beach to sign all necessary documents
and all appropriate subagent agreements for the use of funds approved in the Final
Statement.
