RESOLUTION NO. 93- 23
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
SUPPORTING A PROPOSAL FOR IMPROVED IDENTITY FOR THE NEWPORT
CENTER COMMUNITY.
WHEREAS, the Newport Harbor Area Chamber of Commerce, The Irvine
Company and the Newport Center Association have developed a proposal for improved
identity for the Newport Center Community; and
WHEREAS, this proposal envisions the addition of directional signs on freeways
throughout Orange County giving guidance to motorists traveling to Newport Center;
and
WHEREAS, such proposal must be reviewed and approved by Cal Trans; and
WHEREAS, such proposal is consistent with the City Council's Economic
Development Policy;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach supports the proposal for improved identity for the Newport Center
Community; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that City staff is directed to provide assistance and
support to implement this proposal.
