A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH ADJUSTING THE SALARY OF THE CITY
CLERK TO REFLECT INCREASES IN THE COST OF
LIVING.
WHEREAS, the City has negotiated memorandums of understanding
• with represented employees that call for a 3% cost of living
increase effective January 1, 1994 and the addition of a sixth step
effective April 1, 1994; and
WHEREAS, managerial and supervisorial employees have been
granted similar adjustments to their compensation; and
WHEREAS, City employees last received compensation adjustments
or increases on July 1, 1991 and it is anticipated that the
adjustments authorized in this resolution will fall short of the
cost of living increases between July 1, 1991 and the effected date
of the adjustments; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the performance of the
City Clerk during the preceding 12 months and has concluded she has
performed all of her duties in an exemplary manner.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
resolves as follows:
1. The City Clerk shall receive a three percent cost of
living adjustment effective January 1, 1994;
2. A sixth step shall be added to the salary range for the
step.
