HomeMy WebLinkAbout94-13 - Parking Limits - East Coast Highway & Marguerite AvenueRESOLUTION NO. 94 - 13 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH LIMITING THE PARKING OF VEHICLES TO 30 • MINUTES FROM 7 A.M. TO 6 P.M. DAILY ON THE INLAND SIDE OF EAST COAST HIGHWAY FROM MARGUERITE AVENUE TO A POINT 60 FEET NORTHWESTERLY. • WHEREAS, Section 22506 of the California Vehicle Code permits local authorities, by ordinance or resolution, to prohibit or restrict the stopping, standing or parking of vehicles on a State highway if the ordinance or resolution is first submitted to and approved in writing by the Department of Transportation; and WHEREAS, the owner of La Cantina Liquor store at 3244 East Coast Highway has requested two 30- minute parking spaces (green zones) on East Coast Highway northwesterly of Marguerite Avenue; and WHEREAS, the Traffic Affairs Committee has approved the request and the Corona del Mar Chamber of Commerce and the Corona del Mar Residents Association have given their approval also; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach that the parking of vehicles between the hours of 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. daily be limited to thirty (30) minutes on the inland side of East Coast Highway from Marguerite Avenue to a point sixty (60) feet northwesterly; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Traffic Engineer be and hereby is authorized an directed to appropriately sign or mark said area to indicate such parking limitations.
