HomeMy WebLinkAbout95-119 - Temporary Street ClosureRESOLUTION NO. 95 -119 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF MARIGOLD AVENUE BETWEEN EAST PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY AND THE FIRST ALLEYWAY TO THE SOUTHEAST, AND THE SOUTHERN PORTION OF THE ALLEYWAY PARALLEL TO EAST PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY, ON THE OCEAN SIDE OF THE • HIGHWAY RUNNING BETWEEN MARIGOLD AND MARGUERITE AVENUES. WHEREAS, the California Vehicle Code authorizes the City to adopt rules and regulations by ordinance or resolution regarding assemblages on and temporary closures of City streets; and WHEREAS, Chapter 10.08 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code provides that the City Council may adopt a resolution permitting the closure of a City street for the purpose of selling and/or displaying merchandise for the conduct of special events, provided a permit is issued by the City Manager pursuant to Chapter 5.10; and WHEREAS, a special event permit has been issued to the Health Emporium for the Corona del Mar Health Fair, followed by a private reception, in conjunction with the grand opening of the establishment on Saturday, October 28, 1995 from 1:00 to 10:00 P.M. NOW, THEREFORE, The City Council of the City of Newport Beach resolves as follows: 1. The Health Emporium shall be permitted to conduct activities at events which include the closure of Marigold Avenue between East Pacific Coast Highway and the first alleyway to the southeast, and the southern portion of the alleyway parallel to East Pacific Coast Highway, on the ocean side of the highway, running between Marigold and Marguerite Avenues.
