RESOLUTION NO. 2011 -19 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH <br />APPROVING THE TRANSFER AGREEMENT FOR FISCAL YEAR 2010 URBAN <br />AREA SECURITY GRANT PROGRAM PURPOSES ( "TRANSFER AGREEMENT ") <br />BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER AND THE EMERGENCY SERVICES COORDINATOR TO ACT AS THE <br />"AUTHORIZED AGENTS" TO EXECUTE ON BEHALF OF THE CITY ANY ACTIONS <br />NECESSARY TO IMPLEMENT THE TRANSFER AGREEMENT AND OBTAIN <br />FEDERAL FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROVIDED BY THE FEDERAL DEPARTMENT <br />OF HOMELAND SECURITY AND SUB - GRANTED THROUGH THE STATE OF <br />CALIFORNIA EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach ( "City) has partnered with the cities of <br />Anaheim and Santa Ana to participate in the Fiscal Year 2010 Urban Area Security <br />Initiative (UASI) Grant Program. The City of Newport Beach will request property and <br />training under this grant that will be used for the public safety of its citizens. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim is the administrator of the Fiscal Year 2010 <br />UASI Grant Program. The City is required to sign a Transfer Agreement and the <br />California Emergency Management Agency Grant Assurances. The City of Anaheim <br />requires the naming of two authorized agents from within the City to sign these <br />documents on behalf of the City. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows by the City Council of the City <br />of Newport Beach: <br />Section 1: Approve the Transfer Agreement for Fiscal Year 2010 UASI Grant Program <br />purposes ( "Transfer Agreement ") between the City and the City of Anaheim attached <br />hereto as Exhibit 1. <br />Section 2: Authorize the City Manager and the Emergency Services Coordinator to act <br />as the "Authorized Agents" to execute on behalf of the City any actions necessary to <br />implement the transfer agreement and obtain federal financial assistance provided by <br />
