Webb, Public Works Director- (949) 644 -3330, <br />dawebb @newportbeachca.gov <br />PREPARED BY: Brad Sommers, Senior Civil Engineer <br />PHONE: (949) 644 -3326 <br />TITLE: Adopt a Resolution Supporting an Application by the City of Costa Mesa for the <br />OCTA Measure M2 Regional Traffic Signal Synchronization Program for the Fair <br />Drive -Del Mar Avenue - University Avenue Project <br />ABSTRACT: <br />The City of Costa Mesa has asked our City Council to support their application for the Orange County <br />Transportation Authority (OCTA) Measure M2 Regional Traffic Signal Synchronization Program (TTSP) for <br />the Fair Drive -Del Mar Avenue - University Avenue Project. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Adopt Resolution No. 2014 -96, A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach Supporting <br />an Application by the City of Costa Mesa for the Orange County Transportation Authority's (OCTA) <br />Measure M2 Traffic Signal Synchronization Program Funding for the Fair Drive -Del Mar Avenue - University <br />Avenue Street Corridor Synchronization Project. <br />FUNDING REQUIREMENTS: <br />Funding is not required for adoption of the Resolution to support the Costa Mesa project application to the <br />Regional Traffic Signal Synchronization Program grant program. <br />Should the project application be successful and awarded Measure M2 grant funds, the City will enter into <br />a cooperative agreement with the City of Costa Mesa that will include the required funding for the City of <br />Newport Beach's share of the project. The conceptual cost estimate, including work within Costa Mesa and <br />Newport Beach, is approximately $550,000. The required cash match for work within Newport Beach is <br />estimated at $16,000. Funding for the project would be allocated in the FY 2015 -2016 Capital Improvement <br />Program. <br />5 -1 <br />
