ognizes the importance of promoting
culture and the artthe City of Newport each. A number
of individuals and such as the Arts C ssion and Friends
of the Newport Thea, have been orga zed with the express
purpose of developiomoting cultu e, .theatre and arts.
The City would compe a effort y establishing a Reserve
Fund for Culture anat an b used for a) developing a
master plan for the on of tu re and arts; and b) acquiring
land and /or the construction of ci ities to promote culture and
arts.
The sum of money r/edie year shall a at the discretion of
the City Council aheld in reserve until specific planning
and /or construct ioare approved by the City Council. It
is further the polity of Newport Beach hat expenditures
from this fund shoed equally by the commun ty in the form
of contributions a .
