NEWPORT BEACH SENSITIVE MARINE AREAS
It is the policy of the City Council, through cooperative and mutually supportive
endeavors of the City of Newport Beach, County of Orange and the State Fish and
Game Department to preserve and enhance the natural assets of sensitive marine areas;
to create the best possible marine environments; and to insure their continued existence.
In order to accomplish this goal the Marine Protection and Education division shall,
when possible, schedule and regulate large group trips to sensitive marine
environments. Marine Protection staff assigned to sensitive marine environments are to
educate and enforce rules and regulations for the purpose of is conserving these
resources for future generations.
