HomeMy WebLinkAbout(1978, 11/27) - I-1 - AmendedT -1 11/27/7& BAY STREET END PLANTING Bay front street ends may be improved for utility and aesthetic purposes under the following conditions: 1. Bay street ends at beach level: a. A two -foot wide planting area on each side of the beach will be bordered by a redwood or concrete strip to protect the sand against contamination. b. A two -foo`t high hedge will be planted in this area and will extend 10 or 15 feet out from each side of the beach at the end of the existing concrete pavement. A similar hedge should be planted acro$s the end of the street, but should leave space for City equipment,to enter the beach area. 2. Street ends when tidal flow prevents standard installation: a. Landscaping on paved street ends must have approval by the City of specific plans. b. Reasonable access to the beach areas must be available. 3. Installation costs are the responsibility of the adjacent property owners. 4. The City will recognize these areas as "Street End Beaches" under the control of the Parks, Beaches &'Recreation Department. Adjacent property owners will provide maintenance of plantings. 5. Members of community associations should do,all in their power to assist City Departments to maintain law, ordgr, decorum and neat- ness of those street -end beaches. 6. Application for bay street -end improvement will be filed with the Parks, Beaches & Recreation Department.
