LIBRARY MISSION STATEMENT"
The Mission of the Newport Beach Library System is to make
readily available a variety of media for the informational
and recreational needs and desires of our Library patrons.
In the historic tradition of the public library in America,
basic services will be free.
1. We will maintain a well- founded collection while
at the same time provide the most -wanted books.
2. We will encourage greater use of the Library by
all citizens.
3. We will make special efforts to instill in our
children the habit of life -long Library usage.
4. The four branches will operate as one System, with
common policies, procedures and standards.
5. We will encourage each branch to serve the needs and
tastes of its own public.
6. We will continue to offer our patrons access to the
informational networks beyond our City Library System.
7. We will implement, where feasible, those technological
advances that are deemed beneficial to our Library
users.
8. We will continue to monitor the changing needs of the
community through surveys and Library activities.
