CONDOMINIUM CONVERSIONS
The City of Newport Beach is experiencing an increase in;'the number of
applications to convert existing rental units into condominium ownership.
The City Council is concerned that said condominium conversions will have
an effect on new State laws requiring cities to provide for the housing
needs of all segments of the population, particularly those in low to
moderate cost housing. r'
In addition, the City Council is desirous of

This policy is intended to be terporary in effect and will cease to exist
at such time as the amendments t/o the Condominium Conversion Ordinance and /or
modifications to the Housing E1,0ment of the General Plan are adopted by the
City Council, but in no event phall said policy be effective for a period
longer than six months from the date of adoption.
