A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH,
CALIFORNIA, TO POST STOP CONTROL ON GARY PLACE, POWELL PLACE,
ALDEAN PLACE AND MICHAEL PLACE AT THEIR INTERSECTIONS WITH
15TH STREET
WHEREAS, Section 12.36.010 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code provides that
whenever any ordinance or resolution of this City designates and describes any intersection at
which vehicles are required to stop at one or more entrances thereto, the City Traffic Engineer
shall erect and maintain STOP signs at those entrances at each intersection where a stop is
required; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that there is a need to stop traffic on Gary Place,
Powell Place, Aldean Place and Michael Place at their intersections with 15th Street;
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach hereby resolves as
follows:
That all vehicles are required to STOP on Gary Place, Powell Place, Aldean Place and Michael
Place at their intersections with 15th Street;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Traffic Engineer is hereby directed to erect
and maintain all necessary signs at the above locations.
The City Council finds the adoption of this resolution is not subject to the California
Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA") pursuant to Sections 15060(c)(2) (the activity will not result
in a direct or reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment) and
15060(c)(3) (the activity is not a project as defined in Section 15378) of the CEQA Guidelines,
California Code of Regulations, Title 14, Chapter 3, because it has no potential for resulting in
physical change to the environment, directly or indirectly.
This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council, and
the City Clerk shall certify the vote adopting the resolution.
