RESOLUTION NO. 2019-42 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE <br />MEMBERSHIP OF THE NEWPORT BEACH HOMELESS <br />TASK FORCE <br />WHEREAS, on March 26, 2019, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2019- <br />25, establishing a City Council/Citizens' Committee known as the Newport Beach <br />Homeless Task Force ("Committee") to study the impacts of homelessness on the City <br />and develop solutions to end homelessness; <br />WHEREAS, Resolution No. 2019-25 provided that the Committee is comprised <br />of two (2) councilmembers and seven (7) residents, appointed by the Mayor and <br />confirmed by the City Council; <br />WHEREAS, at the March 26, 2019 meeting, the Mayor appointed and the City <br />Council confirmed Mayor Pro Tem O'Neill and Council Member Avery to the Committee; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to increase the membership of the <br />Committee to three (3) councilmembers with the additional council member appointed <br />by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach resolves as <br />follows: <br />Section 1: The City Council hereby modifies the Committee to increase the <br />membership of the Committee to three (3) councilmembers. Mayor Pro Tem O'Neill <br />and Council Member Avery shall continue to serve as members of the Committee. The <br />third council member shall be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City <br />Council. <br />Section 2: The Committee shall continue to function as an ad hoc committee <br />and the term, qualification of appointees, selection of appointees, appointment process, <br />membership, and responsibilities of the Committee shall be done in conformance with <br />this resolution and Attachment 1, which is incorporated herein by reference. <br />Section 3: The City Council hereby repeals Resolution No. 2019-25. <br />
