CALIF. <br />RESOLUTION DECLARING RESULT OF ELECTION <br />RESOLU4"t6N NO .• 718. <br />WHEREAS, a special election was held in that <br />territory known as "Newport Heights Addition ", on Tuesday, the <br />27th day of October, 1931, pursuant to the provisions of An Act <br />of the Legislature of June 11, 1913, relating to the annexation <br />of territory of municipalities, and found in the Statutes of 1913, <br />page 587, as subsequently amended, at which election there was <br />submitted the question of whether said new territory hereinafter <br />described should be annexed to, incorporated in and made a part <br />of the City of Newport Beach; and <br />WHEREAS, notice of said election was given by <br />publication, in the time, form and manner as required by said <br />act, as appears from the affidavit of %W <br />on file with the City Clerk; and <br />WHEREAS, it appears that said special election was <br />duly held in accordance with law and said notice on Tuesday, the <br />27th day of October, 1931, and that the polls for said election <br />were kept open during the time required by law, to -wit, from <br />six o'clock A. M. to seven o'clock P. M. of said day, and that <br />said special election was held and conducted, and the votes <br />thereof received and canvassed, and the result thereof determined <br />and declared, in the time, form and manner required by law; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport <br />Beach did on Monday, the 2nd day of November, 1931, being the <br />time provided for its regular meeting next after the expiration <br />of three days from and after the date of said election, meet and <br />proceed to canvass the returns of said special election as <br />required by law. <br />
