RESOLUTION NO. 86 -64 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND <br />GIVING NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A GENERAL <br />MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, <br />NOVEMBER 4, 1986 FOR THE ELECTION OF CERTAIN <br />10 OFFICERS AS REQUIRED BY THE PROVISIONS OF THE <br />CHARTER AND FOR SUBMISSION TO QUALIFIED <br />ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF A MEASURE RELATING TO <br />AMENDMENT TO THE CITY CHARTER. <br />WHEREAS, under the provisions of the City Charter of the <br />City of Newport Beach, a General Municipal Election shall be held <br />on November 4, 1986 for the election of Municipal Officers; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach <br />also desires to submit to the qualified electors of the City, at <br />the election, a certain measure relating to a proposed amendment <br />to the City Charter of the City of Newport Beach <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. That pursuant to the requirements of the <br />Charter there is called and ordered to be held in the City of <br />Newport Beach, California, on Tuesday, November 4, 1986 a General <br />Municipal Election for the purpose of electing Members of the <br />City Council for the full term of four years. <br />SECTION 2. That the City Council, pursuant to its right <br />and authority, does order submitted to the qualified electors of <br />the City at the General Municipal Election to be held on November <br />4, 1986, the following measure: <br />MEASURE - CHARTER AMENDMENT <br />Shall the City Charter of the City of Newport <br />Beach be amended to change the dollar amount of YES <br />work requiring formal public works contracting <br />procedures from the present $12,000.00 to <br />$30,000.00? NO <br />A marked placed in the voting square, retangle or other <br />specified voting space after the word "YES" in the manner <br />provided shall be counted in favor of the adoption of the <br />question.
