RESOLUTION NO. 93 -47 <br />A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach Authorizing <br />Membership in the Orange County Vehicle Task Force. <br />Whereas, the problems surrounding automobile theft and car jacking are increasing in <br />California; and <br />Whereas, the Orange County Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution No. 93 -54, <br />pursuant to California Vehicle Code Section 9250.14 to establish an Orange County <br />Vehicle Theft Task Force and funding to impact the increasing incidence of auto theft; <br />and <br />Whereas, the City of Newport Beach has pledged its support to work with the County <br />of Orange, District Attorney's Office, Sheriff's Department, eight other cities aztd <br />various State and Federal Agencies to help address this problem. <br />Now, therefore, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach, that <br />after reviewing the Orange County Vehicle Task Force Progress Report and FY 1993 -94 <br />Proposed Task Force Budget the Newport Beach Police Department is hereby <br />authorized to: <br />1. Participate as a member in the Orange County Vehicle Theft Task Force <br />membership and to represent this city in respect to the Task Force activities; and <br />2. Apply for reimbursement on behalf of the City from the Orange County <br />Vehicle Task Force Fund in accordance and compliance with the County of Orange <br />accepted accounting procedures, and as referenced in the Orange County Vehicle Theft <br />Task Force Progress Report. <br />Adopted, this 28th day of June 1993. <br />i <br />Mayor <br />Attest: <br />
