• <br />RESOLUTION NO. 93 -50 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH <br />CONFIRMING THE LAND USE DESIGNATION <br />OF THE LOWER CAMPUS OF HOAG <br />HOSPITAL AND AUTHORIZING THE <br />SUBMITTAL OF AN AMENDMENT TO THE <br />LOCAL COASTAL PROGRAM, LAND USE <br />PLAN TO THE CALIFORNIA COASTAL <br />COMMISSION <br />WHEREAS, on October 24, 1988, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach <br />approved a comprehensive amendment to the General Plan Land Use Element and the Local <br />Coastal Program, Land Use Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, as part of that amendment the land use designation for the lower <br />campus of Hoag Hospital, known commonly as CalTrans East, was changed from Recreational <br />and Environmental Open Space to Governmental, Educational and Institutional Facilities; and <br />WHEREAS, a master plan for Hoag Hospital has been reviewed and approved by <br />the City Council consistent with this designation. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br />Newport Beach that the action taken on October 24, 1988 designating the lower campus of Hoag <br />Hospital for Governmental, Educational and Institutional Facilities in both the General Plan <br />Land Use Element and the Local Coastal Program, Land Use Plan is still in effect. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the staff of the City of Newport Beach is <br />hereby authorized to submit said amendment to the California Coastal Commission for <br />consideration and approval in association with its consideration of the Master Plan for Hoag <br />Hospital. <br />• ATTEST: <br />CITY CLERK <br />ADOPTED this 26th day of July , 1993. <br />o. <br />MAYOR <br />
