RESOLUTION NO. 93 -52 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING OFF - STREET <br />PARKING METER ZONES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE <br />OPERATION OF PARKING METERS AND RESCINDING <br />RESOLUTION NO. 90 -30. <br />• WHEREAS, Title 12, Chapter 44 of the Newport Beach Municipal <br />Code establishes, among other things, on- street parking meter zones <br />and sets the fees for parking in such zones and further provides <br />that the City Council may, be resolution, establish off - street <br />parking meter zones and set the fees for parking in said zones; and <br />WHEREAS, said Chapter further provides that the City Council <br />shall, by resolution, designate the number of coins to be deposited <br />into parking meters, the parking time allowed following such <br />deposit, the hours of the day, the days of the week, and the weeks <br />of the year during which deposits are required and the meters will <br />be in operation. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach <br />declares and resolves, as follows: <br />Section 1: Traffic and parking conditions require that <br />the following off - street parking meter zones designated in <br />Section 2 be established, and that parking meters be installed and <br />maintained in such zones except where the City Traffic Engineer <br />determines that the presence of parking meters would interfere with <br />the flow of traffic on said land or the use thereof. <br />Section 2: The following off - street parking meter zones <br />are hereby established: <br />ZONE 10: The City -owned and leased land easterly of and <br />adjacent to Central Avenue between Via Oporto <br />and Newport Bay; <br />ZONE 11: The City -owned land known as McFadden Parking <br />Lot lying within McFadden Place between Balboa <br />Boulevard and Ocean Front; <br />ZONE 12: The City -owned land known as the Ocean Front <br />Parking Lot lying oceanward of Ocean Front <br />between McFadden Place and 24th Street; <br />ZONE 14: The City -owned land along 19th Street beach, <br />known as Bay Avenue, between 18th Street and <br />19th Street; <br />ZONE IS: The parking spaces adjacent to the centerline <br />dividing strip on Balboa Boulevard between <br />21st Street and 6th Street and between Island <br />Street and Alvarado Street; <br />ZONE 16: The City -owned land westerly of and parallel <br />to the westerly roadway of Newport Boulevard <br />1 <br />between 30th Street <br />and 28th Street. <br />• <br />ZONE 17: The City -owned <br />parking <br />lot <br />at the <br />southeasterly corner <br />of East <br />Bay Avenue and <br />Washington Street; <br />ZONE 18: The City -owned land <br />southerly <br />of and <br />adjacent <br />to Ocean Front between Palm <br />Street <br />and Main <br />Street; <br />1 <br />
