RESOLUTION NO. 93 -73 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NEWPORT BEACH ADOPTING GENERAL PLAN <br />AMENDMENT 93 -2(D) AMENDING THE LAND USE <br />ELEMENT OF THE NEWPORT BEACH GENERAL PLAN, <br />SO AS TO INCREASE THE DEVELOPMENT <br />• ALLOCATION FOR STATISTICAL AREA NO. L,1 BY 3,805 <br />SQUARE FEET TO 1,284,134 SQUARE FEET. <br />[GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT NO. 93 -2(D)] <br />WHEREAS, as part of the development and implementation of the Newport Beach <br />General Plan the Land Use Element has been prepared; and <br />WHEREAS, said element of the General Plan sets forth objectives, supporting <br />policies and limitations for development in the City of Newport Beach; and <br />WHEREAS, said element of the General Plan designates the general distribution and <br />general location and extent of the uses of land and building intensities in a number of ways, <br />including residential land use categories and population projections, commercial floor area <br />limitations, and floor area ratio ordinance; and <br />WHEREAS, the Land Use and Circulation Elements are correlated as required by <br />California planning law; and <br />WHEREAS, the provisions and policies of the Land Use and Circulation Elements <br />are further implemented by the traffic analysis procedures of the Traffic Phasing Ordinance <br />and the implementation programs of that Ordinance and the Fair Share Traffic Contribution <br />Fee Ordinance; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 707 of the Charter of the City of Newport Beach, <br />the Planning Commission has held a public hearing to consider a certain amendment to the <br />Land Use Element of the Newport Beach General Plan and recommended approval of this <br />amendment to the City Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the proposed project is compatible with the existing land uses within the <br />neighborhood; and <br />WHEREAS, the circulation system will not be significantly impacted by the proposed <br />project; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has held a duly noticed public hearing on this <br />amendment to the Newport Beach General Plan; and <br />
