Minutes of the September 6, 2016 PB&R Commission Meeting The following corrections are suggested: Page 3, paragraph 2 from end: “Laurie Petri Lorian Petry stated that she previously was paralyzed, but is now able to play pickleball.” [?] Page 4, paragraph 5 from end: “Director Detweiler said AT&T owns the land and that it is vacant, but that it would be extremely costly if it was even possible to obtain due to the price of the land and grading costs.” Page 5, paragraph 2 from end: “She was supportive of a bicycle sharing program and shuttles.” Page 6, paragraph 4: “Vice Chair Hayes thanked for former Mayor Nancy Gardner for her work on the plan.” Page 8, Item D description: “Consider the reforestation request of a City Schnius terebinthifoliys Schinus terebinthifolius (Brazilian Pepper) tree by Jack Schoellerman at 2845 Cassia Street.” Page 9, paragraph 2 of public comments: “The tree has grown over the sidewalk and is killing the Cyprus Cypress trees on the property.” Page 9, motion: “Motion by Vice Chair Hayes, second by Commissioner Cole to approve the reforestation request of a City Schnius terebinthifoliys Schinus terebinthifolius (Brazilian Pepper) tree …” Page 10, paragraph 2 before public comments: “Commissioner Anderson requested better signage at Back Bay Loop be reviewed by staff for better signage as he often gets questions from visitors using the loop.” Item VII.B. Parks, Trees & Beach Maintenance Divisions Activties Report The report doesn’t mention the public comments received at the September 13, 2016, City Council meeting about the unauthorized removal (that is, theft) of the City-owned harborfront memorial bench on the Peninsula at the corner of Buena Vista and Edgewater, regarding which the Commission had heard, and rejected, a request from neighboring homeowners that it be moved. For reference, acceptance of the bench was Item 4.C at the Commission’s January 7, 2003, meeting. Denial of the request to move it was Item 6.D at the November 3, 2015, meeting.
