City FacilitiesMonitor un-staffed buildings for security and compliance with rules/regulationsPrevent un-permitted/ unscheduled use Check facility after use to ensure it was left in a clean/safe conditionBuck Gully: Patrol trails for illegal activity, dogs, motorized vehicles, etc., close trails during rain for public safety
Picnic and Park AreasRemind groups about rules/regulations, park hours, monitor use of amplified sound, enforce no alcohol in parksSolve conflicts when two groups want to use the same areaPrevent commercial activity in public parks (such as private tennis lessons)Advise/educate dog owners about leash laws and proper clean-up after petsAddress homeless issuesPrevent Skateboarding on park benches, walls, picnic tables, etc.Inspect and ensure proper clean-up of park areas after scheduled and unscheduled use

Special EventsMonitor permitted special events in parks and on beaches. Enforce permit conditions.Discover/enforce non-permitted weddings, surf contests, etc.Assist with City planned special events.Enforce amplified sound rules and regulations. Enforce alcohol restrictions.
VandalismPrevent vandalism of parks, facilities, and other public property by providing frequent patrols and establishing a visual uniformed City staff presence.Inspect parks and facilities daily for graffiti and other damage and report information to proper Departments.Document vandalism and damage by taking digital photographs and reports and providing information to the Police Department.
