AREAS, the City Council of the ' City of Nevport Beach
on the 16th day of December, 1929, passed its Resolution of
Intention No. 564 'to order the hereinafter described improvement
to be made and public work to be done in the City of Newport
Beach; and
AREAS, after the passage and adoption of Resolution
of Intention No. 564, the Street Superintendent of the City of
Newport Beach conspicuously posted along the line of the con-
templated work and improvement at not more than three hundred
(300) feet in distance apart, and /.2, in all, notices of the
passage of said Resolution of Intention, headed NOTICE OF PUBLIC
WORK, in the manner, form and substance as required by law, and
said Street Superint6hdent also caused a notice similar in sub-
stance to be published by four (4) consecutive insertions in
NE17PORT NEWS, a weekly newspaper published and circulated and
of general circulation in the City of Newport Beach, California,
and named by said City Council in said Resolution of Intention
as the paper in which said notice should appear, all as appears f
from the affidavit of Sam Meyers, owner, printer and publisher
of said weekly newspaper, and which was filed in the office of the
Clerk of the City of Newport Beach on the 31st day of January,
1930,.and is now on file therein; and
WHEREAS, the`" Sheet' Superi nt e nde'ht of the City of New-
port Beach commenced the posting of the notices hereinbefore re-
ferred
e-ferred to on the 21st day of December, 1929, and fully complet ed
the posting thereof on the 21st day of December ,1929 , as appears
from the affidavit of JOHN A. SIEGEL., Assistant Street Superin-

days having expired after the expiration of the time of the
publication of said notice within which protests or objections
to 'the proposed work or improvement night be made by any person
interested objecting to. said work or improvement, or to the
extent of the district or lands to be affected or benefited by
said work or improvement and to be assessed to pay the costs and
expenses thereof; and
WHEREAS, at the next meeting of the City Council after
the expiration of said ten days after the expiration of the
time or the publication of said notice, and no objection to said
work or improvement having been made or 'on file, why said proposed
improvement should not be carried out in accordance with said
Resolution of Intention, the City -Council 'of the City of New-oort
Beach having now acquired jurisdiction to order the proposed
improvement
IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED AND ORDERED: That the public
interest and convenience requires the work hereinafter described
and the City Council of the City of Newport Beach hereby orders
the following work to be done and improvement made in the City of
Newport Beach, as follows:
That the following portion of that certain alley in said
City be closed up and abandoned, which alley to b•e abandoned is
described as follows, to -wit:
All that portion of that certain fourteen (14) foci
alley lying between block 435 of Corona Del Har, as
recorded in Miscellaneous Maps, Book 3,' pages 41 and
42, records of Orange County, California, and Block
"G" of Tract No. 323 as recorded in Miscellaneous Maps,
Book 14, pages 40 and 41 , records off Orange County,
California, described as follows:
Beginning at the most northerly corner of Lot 22 of
said Block 435 of Corona Del Mar; running thence
northeasterly in a direct line along the southeasterly
line of Heliotrope Avenue to the most westerly corner
of Lot 1 of said Block UGu of Tract No. 323; thence

southeasterly along the northeasterly line of said
alley a distance of 14.36 feet to the most westerly
corner of Lot 2, Block "Gil of said Tract No. 323; thence
southwesterly in a direct line 14 feet to a point in
the southwesterly line of said alley, which point is
-103.62 feet northwesterly of the most easterly corner
of Lot 22, Block 435 of said Corona Del Mar; thence
northwesterly along the northeasterly li ne of Lot 22
of said Block 435, Corona Del Mar 14.38 feet to the
point of beginning.
All of which is more clearly shown on a certain reap approved and
adopted .by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach for said
closing up and.abandonment by Resolution No. 563 on the 16th day
of December, 1929.
The public work ordered and the improvement to be
rude is for the purpose of closing up and abandoniqg, a portion
of that . certain alley as hereinbefore described,. and for that
reason no district is chargeable therewith.
All of the herein proposed work shall be done in
pursuance of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California,
designated "Street Opening Act of 188911, and amendments thereto.
For further particulars reference is hereby made to
said Resolution of Intention No. 564, which is dated the 16th
day of December, 1929, and on file with the- Clerk of the City of
Newport Beach.
The Clerk of the City of Newport Beach is herewith
instructed to record a copy of this Resolution Oxdering Improve—
ment in the Office of the County Recorder of the County of Orange,
State of California.
I hereby certify that.the foregoing Resolution Ordering
Improvement No. V ,` was duly introduced and regularly passed
and adopted by the City Council of the City -of Newport Beach at a
regular meeting thereof , held on the 3rd day of February, 1930,
by the following vote, to—wit:
