Dear Newport Beach City Council:
As you know, rising property values in old Corona del Mar reflect that
many find the walkability and varied services of our community very
desirable. The Village is filled with a wonderful and diverse population
including seniors, millennials and young families.
Although many of us have a special history and fond feelings for our
quaint library, it was built in 1955 and has definitely served its purpose
beautifully. But in looking at the big picture, it is not the library for
future generations.
We feel this project is a perfect example of how Representative
Government should work. The ability for average citizens to know and
work with City Staff, Library Trustees, and City Council members, as
we have all done for the last two years, is how we think government is
supposed to work in America. If we achieve the final goal, these efforts
will show many who are disillusioned with government, that once again
we can all work together for the greater good.
For all who depend upon this valuable asset to our community, we
appreciate the fact that Councilman Will O'Neill and now our
Councilman, Scott Peotter have asked that, funds for this project be kept
in the CIP Budget for 2017-18. We hope that with thoughtful
consideration the rest of the Council will also feel similarly and that
perhaps we can begin construction on this project as soon as possible.
With much appreciation,
Friends of the CdM Library Board:

Subject: NEWPORT HEIGHTS TRAFFIC STUDY - BUDGET CHECKLIST
This email is intended to voice my significant support for the proposed traffic study for Newport heights. With
3 schools and thousands of kids coming through NP Heights daily it is very unsafe for student walking to school
and certainly biking to school. The city needs to take action to improve the traffic flow to allow our
neighborhood to be as safe a possible for our kids and students.
