Also the existing affordable housing appartments are built per
federal standard sizes that are already very small and any
modifications to the mobility unity bathrooms will require
expanding the bathroom walls into unit kitchen or main living
spaces.
This option will not be acceptable to HUD regulators and will not
be financially feasible to an affordable housing entity.
EQUIVALENT FACILITATION
The new rolling showers will have per plans a clear space to
access of four feet and nine inches, this will allow more than
sufficient clear space for a wheel chair to approach the shower as
is depicted in sheet A3 of the attached Plans.
